13 Mile Road, Dark & Diabolical
Halmich Park falls on a wicked stretch of 13 Mile Road where the realm of darkness takes over in a flash. Once darkness falls, certain areas of the road tricks you into a sinister maze of nightmares that could only happen during the darkest nights of the year. Gruesome encounters with dark shadow people has been an ongoing thing for both the locals and visitors who have crossed paths with entities that look as if they could be the crypt keeper themselves, only to watch the dark masses of evil completely vanish in front of their eyes.
Haunted Halmich Park.... At the Diabolical 13 Mile Road
Just when you think the night couldn't be any creepier or so obviously devoid of light, a large dark figure runs directly across the front of your car while you are attempting to maintain visibility that is barely above zero due to heavy rain, fog, and dark shadows, and then your worst fears are born out of nowhere. You hear that sickening thud. You are positive that you have just hit someone or something; meanwhile your heart is beating so loudly that you could swear that it has relocated to that delicate part of your inner ears, threatening to drive you into near hysteria as reality swallows up the last of your sanity while you attempt to grasp the concept that you may have just accidentally killed someone.
You are not alone.....The residual haunting occurs with lone drivers traveling late at night on the ominous stretch of road that falls just off of 13 Mile Road that runs along one part of the 80 acre Halmich Park. The ghost-infested area is nestled in a snugly triangle consisting of Chicago Road, Ryan Road and the haunted 13 Mile Road in Warren, Michigan, just outside of Detroit.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of incidences involving injured pedestrians resulting from being plowed over by late night drivers in the area. There are however many reports from drivers concerning screaming dark figures that disappear just as quickly as they came into full view under the spectrum of their blaring headlights, only to disappear upon further inspection from the driver who dared to get out of the safety of their automobile for a closer look.
The part of Halmich Park that falls on the section of 13 Mile Road is quite literally where the realm of darkness takes over in a flash, leaving a quite different impression than that of the nearby serene home where the mammals, birds and insects flourish by day to a nearby destination where when darkness falls it tricks you into a sinister maze of nightmares that could only happen in the dead of the night. Gruesome encounters with dark figures has been an ongoing thing for both the locals and visitors who have crossed paths with these entities that look as if they could be the rotting flesh smelling crypt-keeper themselves, only to completely vanish once you reach a final point of approximately 100 feet away from where they stand.
Those who have attempted to meander outside the safety of their own stopped vehicle have encountered everything from ghost cars with flashing tail lights directly in front of them to extremely large and distorted black robed entities running away so fast that they are virtually indescribable and come off as nothing more then a mere blur, or in some cases a figment of one's own imagination, at least that is what you will be told once you report the story to the proper authorities. Attempts at photographing the area have only shown evidence of dark shadowy figures, orbs and mist covered roads and trees.
Noises reminiscent to the pounding on the hood of a car happens often to those who walk away from their own vehicle and onward to other stopped vehicles directly in front of them, only to look back at the cause of the pounding, and then back again at the mystery cars only to discover that the stopped vehicles have vanished into thin air, only to reappear when you get close enough to be considered tailgating. Again the dark figures appear and begin pounding again on the top of your vehicle. Speculation has risen that it is teenagers having fun scaring people half to death, but further investigations into the scene where the incident took place has never once brought back any evidence of nearby footprints, even after a heavy rain.
Paranormal investigators as well as amateur and professional ghost hunters have all set up camp to the area to see what would become of the night. All reported the feeling of being watched and they witnessed cars stopping in the road for no apparent reason. Snapshots of the vehicles only serve to prove that cars of unsuspecting late night travelers are surrounded by orbs in a veil of ethereal mist. Dark shadows were also evident, but they remained at a safe distance, never quite showing themselves to the fullest extent of their being.
